Getting started
From a wallet to your first trade on a stock or crypto perp, in four steps.
1. Connect your wallet
Open the terminal and choose Connect. Any browser wallet works, and with several installed you pick one. On a phone without one, Connect opens Afterbell inside MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet or Trust Wallet. Use the wallet you already trade with on Hyperliquid: your balance there is the balance you trade with here.
New to Hyperliquid? Choose your address, then Deposit: it sends USDC on Arbitrum to Hyperliquid’s bridge, and it reaches your account in under a minute. Deposits start at 5 USDC; Hyperliquid never credits less. Withdraw sends USDC back to the same address on Arbitrum in 3 to 4 minutes, with one signature and no gas.
2. Enable trading
Enable trading asks for two signatures. The first approves a trading key that lives in this browser. It can place and cancel orders for your account and can never withdraw or move funds. The second approves the 0.03% builder fee on the orders you place through Afterbell. After that, orders go out without a wallet pop-up.
3. Fund the stock exchange
Stock perps trade on Hyperliquid’s xyz exchange (trade.xyz), which keeps its own margin. A few trade on two smaller builder exchanges too, EntropyIO and Paragon, each with its own margin; their markets carry the exchange’s name, like SNDK-IO, and OpenAI and Anthropic pre-IPO perps sit there. Accounts in Hyperliquid’s unified mode draw margin from the main balance automatically. Otherwise the ticket offers Move USDC, one more signature that moves USDC from your main balance into xyz. Crypto perps trade on Hyperliquid’s main exchange and use the main balance as it is.
Afterbell runs on Hyperliquid testnet today. Claim test USDC at app.hyperliquid-testnet.xyz/drip with a wallet that has deposited on Hyperliquid before.
4. Place the order
Choose Long or Short, the order type, the size in dollars and the leverage. Clicking a price in the order book makes it your limit price.
- Market fills now, within 1% of the mid, or cancels.
- Limit rests at your price. Post only cancels it instead of filling at once, so it always pays the maker fee.
- Stop arms at a trigger price, then fills at market or rests at the limit you set. A buy above the price or a sell below it is a breakout stop.
- Scale spreads the size over 2 to 20 limit orders between two prices.
- TWAP lets Hyperliquid work the order for 5 minutes to 24 hours, a slice every 30 seconds. TWAPs carry no builder fee.
Size by Risk turns the size field around: type the dollars you are willing to lose, set a stop loss, and the ticket works out the size that loses exactly that if the stop fills.
Turn on TP/SL to give the order an exit plan: a take-profit and a stop-loss, typed as prices or picked as steps from the entry. Each leg shows what it would make or lose, and a bar sets the risk beside the reward. Both legs arm when the entry fills and close the whole position at market.
Follow and copy
The traders page ranks the largest Hyperliquid accounts by this month’s and this week’s results, or by how much they hold in stock perps. Each trader’s page shows their positions live; Copy opens the ticket on the same side and leverage, and you choose the size. Follow a trader and the browser tells you when they trade, while an Afterbell tab is open.
On the chart
Your own position draws itself on the chart: the entry, the liquidation price, the take profit and stop loss, and every resting order. Toggle EMA 20, EMA 50, a daily VWAP and Bollinger bands from the chart’s key; the choice is remembered. The order book groups prices by the step you pick.
Afterbell Pro
Every heatmap has its own page under Heatmap, with three days of liquidation history and a day of the order book; BTC’s are free for everyone. Pro is read by the Afterbell API from your wallet’s Hyperliquid ledger, and this browser keeps the wallet’s key after one signature, which moves no funds. The same key works in your own code at 120 requests a minute; the API plan, $149 a month, raises that to 1,200.
Pro adds the liquidity heatmap (where resting orders sit, recorded around the clock), the liquidation heatmap on the chart (an estimate of where positions liquidate across every candle, scaled to open interest, with the measured levels of tracked positions at its edge and their recorded history one switch away; hover it for the inspector, the cells around the pointer with their values, where Shift+U switches dollars and units, Shift+L locks it and Shift+H hides it) and the full live feed of liquidations with every position close to its liquidation price. It costs $29 a month or $290 a year, paid in USDC from your Hyperliquid balance with one signature; your Pro time is read from your own Hyperliquid ledger, and nothing renews by itself. Every connected wallet can try it free for 30 days.
Indicators are free: EMA 20 and 50, VWAP, VWAP from the home market’s close, Bollinger bands, Supertrend, a volume profile, RSI and MACD. So are the market heatmap and the newest liquidations. Choose Dusk, Midnight or Paper from the foot of any page.
Alerts
With notifications on (from your address menu), the browser tells you when one of your orders fills and when a position comes within 10%, 5% and 2% of its liquidation price. The positions tab shows the same warning in red.
Keyboard and language
In the terminal, B and S pick the side, M, L, T and W pick the order type, and / searches markets; ? lists them all. Afterbell reads in English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese: switch at the foot of any page.
Positions, open orders, running TWAPs and fills sit in the tabs under the chart, for stock and crypto perps together. Each position shows its exit plan; Edit exit changes or clears it, and Edit on a resting order moves its price or size. Close half and Close ask for a second click, and Share makes a picture of the trade to post. Your portfolio page has the account’s value over time, funding and fees, and every fill of the last 30 days as a CSV.
